What is it

What is a PDF Summarizer?

Research papers, white papers, e-books, reports, and academic articles are usually 10-50 pages long. Reading every word is rarely the best use of your time — you usually want the gist, the main argument, and the key findings. A PDF summarizer extracts the text, runs it through an LLM, and gives you a structured summary in 30 seconds. TextSight's PDF summarizer accepts text-based PDFs up to 20 MB. The file is processed server-side, the text is summarized, and the file is deleted within 60 seconds — never stored, never used to train models.

FAQ

Common questions

Is the PDF summarizer free?

Yes, 5 PDFs per day with no signup. Sign up free for 50/day.

Is my PDF private?

Files are processed server-side then deleted within 60 seconds. We don't store them, train on them, or share them.

Maximum PDF size?

Up to 20 MB per upload.

Does it work on scanned PDFs (image-based)?

No — we extract text from the PDF's text layer. Scanned image-only PDFs (no text layer) won't extract. For those, OCR the PDF first using a tool like Adobe Acrobat or Smallpdf.

What about password-protected PDFs?

Remove the password first (most PDF tools can do this), then upload.

Can it summarize specific sections of the PDF?

Currently summarizes the whole document. To summarize a section, copy that section's text and use the regular AI Summarizer.

Are images / charts / tables summarized?

Text extracted from tables is included. Pure images and charts are skipped.
