For schools, teachers, and students using TextSight. How we handle student writing and data, and the commitments we make to education users.
Text submitted for AI detection is processed by our own model to compute a result. Free scans are not stored; where a result is saved to an account, it can be deleted. See our Content Handling Policy and Data Retention page.
For schools in the United States subject to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), TextSight acts on the school's behalf with respect to student education records submitted to the service, and we use such data only to provide the service. Schools that need specific contractual terms can request a data processing agreement.
TextSight is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate school or parental consent. If a child under the applicable age needs to use TextSight, this should be arranged and authorised through their school or guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us without proper consent, contact us and we'll delete it.
Where a school or teacher administers accounts on behalf of students, the school/teacher is responsible for obtaining any consents required under their local laws and policies, and for how results are used (please review our AI Detection Limitations before acting on a score).
Students and schools can delete saved scans and accounts from settings, or request deletion at privacy@textsight.ai.
