Often, yes. Turnitin's AI writing report estimates how much of a paper looks AI-generated, and unedited ChatGPT text is usually flagged. Edited or mixed writing is harder to call. Turnitin shows scores between 1% and 19% only as an asterisk (*%) because false positives are more common in that range, and it says the score should not be the only basis for action against a student.
