The AI checker at plagiarismdetector.net works, takes no account, and stops at 2,000 words per check. Most people who go looking for something else are hitting one of two ceilings: documents longer than the box allows, or a need for the result to exist after they close the tab.
Paste some text or load the example to estimate AI likelihood.
Checked 16 August 2026 at https://plagiarismdetector.net/ai-content-detector. The page returns HTTP 200 and loads a functioning tool. The panel is headed "AI Content Detection" and shows a live counter reading "0 / 2000 Words" beside a character count, with the line "Check upto 5,000 Words" and a "Go Pro" button directly under it. Controls present: "Upload", "Detect AI Content", and shortcuts to "Check Plagiarism" and "AI Humanizer". Results render as two percentages, "AI Written Content" and "Human Written Content".
On accounts the page is clear: "Don't want to sign up? Don't worry, this web-based utility doesn't demand any account creation from its users." On retention it states the tool "never stores or shares your confidential data with any third party for any possible reason."
The footer reads "Copyright © 2026 Plagiarism Detector. All Rights Reserved." No operating company, registered number or jurisdiction is named. The site's language switcher offers sixteen interface languages, and the detector page describes itself as having "Multiple languages supported", though no per-language detection detail is published.
The counter caps at 2,000 words and the upsell offers 5,000. Further down the same page, a bulleted list of advantages includes the line "No word count limit." Both statements are on the page. The counter governs what happens when you paste, so plan against 2,000.
AI detection is not bundled into the headline plan. It is sold as an add-on beside the plagiarism allowance. From https://plagiarismdetector.net/pricing, checked 16 August 2026:
| Plan | Plagiarism allowance | Headline price | AI Detector add-on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Individual Basic | 36,000 words, 120 pages | $9.99 per month | $10 for 30,000 words, 100 pages |
| Individual Premium | 72,000 words, 240 pages, 1 user seat, API | $19.99 per month | $30 for 114,000 words, 380 pages |
| Business Basic | 360,000 words, 1,200 pages, 5 seats, API | $50 per month | $50 per month for 1,800,000 words |
| Business Premium | 360,000 words, 1,200 pages, 8 seats, API | $80 per month | $80 per month for 5,112,720 words |
The page also advertises "40% OFF on selecting more than 1 product" across its add-on tools, which include a paraphraser, humaniser, grammar checker and summariser priced separately.
Two cautions, both observable on the page itself.
First, a comparison table lower down restates the AI Detector at $10 and $30 but pairs those prices with a "Word limit 25,000" and totals of 40,000 and 60,000 words, which do not match the 30,000 and 114,000 on the plan cards above. We used the plan-card figures because they sit next to the buy buttons, but the page publishes two sets.
Second, the annual figures do not consistently reconcile. Individual Basic shows "$9.99 per month" and "Billed $96 / Yearly", which is coherent. Business Basic shows "$50 per month" and "Billed $59.88 / Yearly", which no monthly rate produces. Confirm annual pricing at checkout rather than quoting it.
The detector page states it is a "100% trustworthy AI checker", that "The advanced AI generator provides you with 100% reliable and accurate results", that it offers "guaranteed results", and that results "can be shared as evidence without any fear or worry."
Those are the vendor's words, reported as such. We will not make an equivalent claim about our own detector, for a reason that applies to every tool here including ours: AI detectors are statistical classifiers. They produce false positives on human writing and false negatives on machine writing, and the false positives fall hardest on people who learned English as a second language. Vendors differ sharply on how they frame this. Editpad, for one, prints a caution to exactly that effect under its own result panel.
You need plagiarism and AI detection in the same visit. This is the real reason to be there. The site is a plagiarism checker first, and having "Check Plagiarism" one click from "Detect AI Content" on the same text is a workflow advantage a standalone detector cannot match. If your question is "is this copied, and does it read as machine written", staying put makes sense.
Your documents are under 2,000 words. Blog posts, essays, product pages and briefs mostly are. Within that ceiling the tool is free and immediate.
You want to pay for detection separately. The add-on model lets you buy 30,000 words of AI detection for $10 on top of a plagiarism plan rather than moving to a new subscription.
You want no account, and you work across many interface languages. Sixteen localised interfaces is more than most tools here offer, and our detector is English-only, so on non-English text we cannot serve you at all.
If your work fits those conditions, there is no reason to move.
The result does not persist: percentages vanish with the tab, and if a client queries an invoice or a colleague disputes what you found, a screenshot carries almost no weight, because there is no verifiable timestamp and no record of the exact text submitted. Long documents need splitting, so a 6,000 word report becomes three pastes and three answers you reconcile by hand. And nothing scales past manual, because forty files a month needs upload, bulk processing or an API.

| Tool | Cost | Account | Published input limit | Languages | Result kept |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PlagiarismDetector.net AI Detector | Free box; add-on from $10 | Not required | 2,000 words free, 5,000 on Pro | "Multiple languages supported", 16 interface languages | On paid accounts |

| NeuralWriter AI Content Detector | Free; subscription prices not published | Not required | 10,000 characters, minimum 20 | "30+ languages" | No |
| WriterBuddy AI Content Detector | Free; premium price not published | Not required | Not published | English only | No |

NeuralWriter's page states its verdict comes from routing your text through five outside detection services simultaneously. That is worth knowing before pasting anything confidential into it, and it is the opposite trade to PlagiarismDetector.net's stated position of not sharing your data with third parties.
The box at the top of this page is ours. Used anonymously it allows 3 checks per day, pooled across our AI Detector and Document Detector, capped at 1,000 words per check, with a 25 word minimum. That is a lower free ceiling than PlagiarismDetector.net's 2,000 words, and we would rather state it than bury it.
The trade sits behind a free account: 60 checks a day at up to 5,000 words, and every signed-in scan written to Scan History. Scan History is available to any signed-in user, free accounts included. It is not a paid upgrade, and that persistence is the one thing a stateless free box cannot give you.
Scores come back as bands rather than a bare number. Under 30 reads "likely human-written", 30 to 69 reads "mixed signals", 70 and above reads "likely AI-generated". A band invites a judgement call. A decimal invites false confidence.
Annual billing is 25 percent below monthly across every tier.
File upload, URL scanning and bulk scanning come with paid plans. We do not sell plagiarism checking, so if similarity matching is half your job, we are not a replacement for where you already are.
Our detector is an English-only ensemble of DeBERTa, RoBERTa and ELECTRA, with a known false-positive bias against writers who learned English as a second language. The fluent, formal English such writers often produce is precisely the pattern these models associate with generated text. Against a site offering sixteen languages, this is the honest limit of what we can do.
