Before you renew Rephrasy or replace it, read two pages side by side. Its homepage FAQ promises guaranteed pass rates. Its terms of service say the opposite. That gap is the most useful thing to know about the product, and it changes how you should evaluate anything you switch to.
Paste some text or load the example to estimate AI likelihood.
On the homepage, the FAQ answer to "Which AI detectors can Rephrasy bypass?" reads: "Rephrasy bypasses all major AI detectors including Turnitin, GPTZero, Originality.ai, Copyleaks, ZeroGPT, Sapling, and Content at Scale. We guarantee 100% pass rates on every major detector." The same page repeats it: "We guarantee 100% pass rates on all major AI detectors" (rephrasy.ai, checked 16 August 2026).
In the terms of service: "Rephrasy aims to humanize text effectively but does not guarantee that humanized text will be undetectable by AI detectors" (rephrasy.ai/terms-of-service, checked 16 August 2026).
We are not characterising this beyond describing it. Both sentences are on the vendor's live site, and the second governs the contract you enter. The lesson generalises: in this category the marketing figure and the enforceable promise live in different documents, and only one of them binds anyone. Whatever you switch to, open the terms.
The same terms add that users "agree to use Rephrasy responsibly and only for lawful purposes", that Rephrasy "assumes no responsibility for how users utilize the humanized text or AI detection results", and that it "particularly disclaims any responsibility in cases involving fraud or misuse of the service."
Rephrasy sells credits rather than words, and its own copy defines one credit as 2,000 words of humanizer or detector work. Its plans, from the pricing section on rephrasy.ai, checked 16 August 2026:
| Plan | Monthly humanizer allowance | Notable inclusions |
|---|---|---|
| Growth | "Humanize up to 200,000 words per month" | Chrome Extension, 1 custom writing style, 1 Extended Scan via support |
| Business | "Humanize up to 400,000 words per month" | Humanizer API, 3 custom writing styles, 2 Extended Scans |
| Professional | "Humanize up to 800,000 words per month" | Humanizer API, AI Detector API, free AI Detector, 10 writing styles, 10 Extended Scans |
We are not quoting prices. The plan cards load their figures after the page renders and no dollar amounts were visible to us on 16 August 2026; the only pricing statement in the page source is "Plans start from just a few dollars per month". Read the live cards yourself.
Two structural things set Rephrasy apart here. The allowances are an order of magnitude larger, in hundreds of thousands of words rather than tens of thousands. And there is a one time product, the "24 hours access pass": "One-time payment, expires after 24 hours", offering "Unlimited AI Humanizer usage", "Unlimited AI Detector usage" and "2400 Credits to use with the Plagiarism Checker & API". For a single deadline rather than an ongoing need, that shape is unique in this group.
Rephrasy also ships things its neighbours mostly do not: writing style cloning, a plagiarism checker, an "Alternative Turnitin Report", and API access from the mid tier rather than only at the top.
The terms say: "Refunds are possible under specific conditions. Note that refunds for already used credits are not available." And more bluntly: "We do not just refund upon request. We offer a free-trial which helps you to figure out if our service is the right one for you. We do not refund any lifetime deals!"
On cancellation: "Upon subscription cancellation, the subscription status will be removed, reducing the Humanizer feature limit to a maximum of 100 words. However, unused credits will remain" (rephrasy.ai/terms-of-service, checked 16 August 2026).
That last clause is better than most. Credits you paid for and did not spend survive cancellation, even though the per request limit collapses to 100 words. If you are leaving Rephrasy, check your credit balance first, because it does not evaporate.
The free entry points, per the site: a free plan that humanises "up to 100 words", "3 free credits" after email confirmation, "10 free credits" for submitting model feedback, and a one day risk free trial that asks for payment details through Stripe (rephrasy.ai, checked 16 August 2026).
Rephrasy's language switcher displays roughly eleven three letter codes in a non standard form: ENG, GER, FRE, SPA and similar, rather than the ISO codes en, de, fr, es. Several did not map cleanly to a language we could identify. Language coverage is worth verifying rather than counting: if a specific language matters, test it before you buy.
Rephrasy sells evasion of AI detectors. TextSight sells the detector. If evasion is the thing you are paying for, we do not replace Rephrasy and you should compare it against tools that do the same job.
Keep Rephrasy if:
We build the detector. Our rewriter targets clarity, not a score: shorter sentences, fewer hedges, less filler. We publish no pass rate against anyone's system, including our own, because that number is not what we sell.
That makes us useful to whoever reads the text rather than writes it. Programme leads triaging submissions. Editors receiving freelance copy. Teams who need a document with the reasoning visible, not a screenshot.
The limits, stated before you spend anything. Our detector is English only, an ensemble of DeBERTa, RoBERTa and ELECTRA. It carries a known false positive bias against writers who learned English as a second language, so a high score on an international student's essay may reflect that bias rather than anything about the text. Use a result to open a question, never to settle one.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual (25% off) |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $9.99 | $7.49/mo |
| Pro | $19.99 | $14.99/mo |
| Business | $39.99 | $29.99/mo |
| Enterprise | $79.99 | $59.99/mo |
We meter checks per day rather than credits. The box above works with no account: 3 checks a day, pooled across the AI Detector and Document Detector, up to 1,000 words. A free account gives 60 checks a day at 5,000 words with history. Starter is 200 a day. Pro and above are unlimited. Minimum input is 25 words. Under 30 reads as likely human written, 30 to 69 as mixed signals, 70 and above as likely AI generated.
Sentence level analysis and PDF export from Starter. Chrome extension and REST API from Pro. Teams and branded reports from Business. File upload, URL scan and bulk scan included.
What happens after you see the score? If you rewrite until it drops, you are shopping in Rephrasy's category, and the comparison is credit economics against what the terms actually promise. If you act on the score, or hand it to somebody, you are shopping for a detector.
